At the recently concluded 20th Youying Low-Carbon Qinling Forum, a gentle yet resolute young speaker took the stage. Her name is Zheng Xinyi, a 17-year-old high school student. Her speech, titled “Green Ledger: When Every Transaction Sparks Hope for the Earth,” was delivered in fluent, natural English. In it, she shared a profound perspective: every purchase is a vote for the future of our planet.

She spoke slowly and steadily. Her tone was firm, but never dramatic. She didn’t aim to stir emotions with volume—instead, she used data, stories, and real action to unfold a sustainable vision for the youth of her generation. She shared how she and her team designed a “Smart Green Campus,” featuring solar-powered benches, automated water-saving systems, and a carbon-tracking app. It was a practical and creative eco-solution—her first hands-on experiment in “green budgeting.” One line from her speech lingered in many minds:“Finance is no longer just about profit. It’s about purpose.”

Beyond her presence at the podium, Zheng Xinyi holds another important role—accountant of the Youying Low-Carbon Youth Organization. While most teenagers are still learning how to make decisions, she’s already managing fundraising, budget planning, and expense allocations for various events. From balance sheets to budget reports, she handles every task with precision and care. Whether it’s a student club meeting or an official forum, she takes the lead in financial records, resource coordination, and documentation. She’s not only a reliable collaborator, but also a young executor with remarkable inner strength.

Her determination doesn’t stop at spreadsheets. She’s the president of her school’s astronomy club, organizing stargazing nights and discussions. She’s also a selected participant of the Shaanxi Province Youth Talent Program, conducting experiments in physics at Xi’an Jiaotong University. She won third prize at the National Youth Science Innovation Competition and has served as a volunteer at international education fairs. Every one of these experiences adds a chapter to her personal growth, and every new challenge is a step toward discovering her future.

“We young people are not just waiting for change,” she said. “We are creating it.”This belief is not only her guiding principle—it’s the very logic behind her every action.

Perhaps her dream isn’t to become a CFO, nor necessarily a climate policy expert. But through action, she is already shaping a softer yet stronger form of leadership—one that is woven from responsibility and quiet resolve. It calls to mind the old Chinese saying:“A single spark can start a prairie fire.”

In an era where search engine heat often overshadows real warmth, Zheng Xinyi shows us that true influence doesn’t always come with noise. Sometimes, it resides in the quiet precision of ledgers and in the earnest commitment of a 17-year-old girl.

她的语速不快，语气却坚定。她不试图用情绪制造震撼，而是用数据、故事与行动，铺展开一个属于青年世代的环保愿景。她谈到自己和团队在比赛中设计“智慧绿色校园”，用太阳能长椅、自动节水系统和碳追踪APP，完成了一个并不昂贵却充满创意的环保方案——这是她亲手推动的第一个“绿色预算”实验。而她的讲稿中有一句话令人久久回味：“Finance is no longer just about profit. It’s about purpose.”

而在演讲之外，这个17岁的女孩还有着另一个身份——优英低碳环保组织的会计。在多数人还在学习如何做出选择时，她已能为组织募捐、预算、调整经费安排，并协助我们为每次活动做好财务平衡与资源分配。从收支平衡表到预算报告，她从不草率；从社团活动到论坛筹备，她更是主动承担财务记录、资源调度和材料编写等繁琐事务。她是一个让人放心的合作者，更是一个拥有强大内在力量的“行动者”。

她的坚定不仅体现在数字和财务表格中。她是校内天文社的社长，组织观星与分享活动；她也是陕西省“英才计划”入选学生，参与大学物理实验；她还是全国科普创新大赛的三等奖获得者，并曾在海外教育展担任志愿者。她把每一项经历都转化为成长的注脚，也在一次次实践中，探索着未来可能的方向。
